Ven Seshadri, President and CEO. Ven Seshadri has been President and Chief Executive Officer of the company since May 2006. Prior to this, he spent four years with the company (and two years with its predecessor company) as Chief Operating Officer. In that role, he led the company’s finance and operations functions, including managing the rollout of SPi’s EBT Hub services through Ontario’s retail electricity market deregulation process in 2002. Mr. Seshadri has been instrumental in shaping SPi’s operations and business growth since then. Prior to joining SPi, Mr. Seshadri held a number of software development positions at IBM Canada. Mr. Seshadri holds BASc and MASc degrees in engineering from the University of Toronto.
Tim Fry, Chief Information Officer. Tim Fry has held the position of Chief Information Officer since 2004, and was Vice President of Architecture prior to that. His focus is on the technology infrastructure that supports SPi’s product and service offerings. Mr. Fry also leads the company’s software development and operations teams, ensuring the use of best practices in these areas. As the head of software architecture, he has been instrumental in the development of the company’s key technologies. Mr. Fry has over twenty years experience in the software industry, in software development and architectural roles in both the energy and financial services industries.
Shelley Lewis, Vice President – Finance and Administration. Shelley Lewis joined SPi in 2004 and was promoted to her current position in 2006. Ms. Lewis is a chartered accountant with a wide variety of experience in finance, human resources, customer service, facilities management and communications. She has over fourteen years of experience in management positions in both public and private sector organizations.
Ron Osborne, Vice President – Business Development and Sales. Ron Osborne is responsible for developing new business opportunities and maintaining and enhancing SPi’s customer and business partner relationships. He comes to SPi with over twenty years of experience in the energy industry, holding management and executive positions in facilities management, customer service, marketing and sales positions with Ontario Hydro and Ontario Power Generation. During three years as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for EBT Express, he grew their business for EBT hub services in Ontario to a 60% market share before the company merged with Screaming Power to form The SPi Group.
Steve Taylor, Vice President – Energy Markets. Steve Taylor is the business lead for the company’s billing and settlement services business line. Since joining SPi in 2003, he has developed this business line from the ground up to become the leading provider of billing and settlement solutions to energy retailers in Ontario. Mr. Taylor has over 15 years of experience in software development and service delivery with expertise in consulting and project management, and is a recognized expert in the structure and operations of deregulated energy markets.
