SPi was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Ontario retail electricity market structure and played a key role in the opening of the market to competition, steering over 70 market participants through the pre-market opening design and testing phases.
SPi currently leads the Ontario Working Group for EBT Standards, and is actively involved in the overall change management processes within the province. SPi has consulted with various organizations across North America in the development of standards. Since market opening in Ontario, SPi�s data clearinghouse has met or exceeded all regulatory requirements and service level agreements with its customers for performance and availability. Today, the SPi EBT Hub provides services to over 90% of the Ontario market. The SPi EBT Hub has processed over 200 million transactions since market opening with an availability ratio of over 99.9%, and is one of the largest and most efficient systems of its kind.
